Partage Prints is a creative group of adults with multiple disabilities and volunteers who meet weekly to silk screen various projects. Established in 1986, Partage Prints has grown from being a home based initiative to an outreach activity for Ottawa Foyers Partage. It produces a variety of art and craft work such as seasonal cards, artistic T-shirts, gift boxes and other fine art creations. Products are sold mainly using direct sales and crafts shows as well as online. Proceeds from go to buying materials to sustain the program and support of other programs for disadvantaged people. The key to the succes of this program is the focus on creating friendships and having fun. The program is not only geared to production but to fostering an environment of enjoyment, relationship building and friendship. It has been operational for 35 years. It intially started at on of the OFP homes and gradually integrated into weekly activities of Ottawa Foyers Partage. The program is designed for persons with multiple disabilities enabling them to contibute to society through arts and crafts. It provides an avenue to sensitize the public on the creativeness of handicapped people. By creating products that can be appriciated by other people the program provides clients with a sense of ownership. Currently the main products are cards, T-shirts, gift boxes and limited edition fine arts. These products are marked through direct sales to customers.
